The 2017 class of GE students earned 105 credentials, including:

  • 13 GEDs, 43 Certificates & Workforce Credentials, 36 Associate Degrees, Eight Transfers to four-year colleges & universities, and five Bachelor’s Degrees

Among this year’s class of workforce credential earners are Medical Assistants, Administrative Assistants, HVAC Technicians, Phlebotomists, Welders, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Nursing Assistants, Electricians, and Machine Operators. These young people will enter the workforce immediately and earn a self-sustaining wage and a path out of poverty.

Among this year’s Associate degree graduates, we have future Educators, Accountants, Social Workers,            Registered Nurses, Graphic Designers, and Law Enforcement Officers.

Eight GE students will transfer to four-year colleges to continue their education. Among the colleges they will attend:

  • George Mason University
  • James Madison University
  • Berea College
  • University of Virginia- Wise
  • Shepherd University
  • Eastern Tennessee State University

In addition, five Great Expectations students earned bachelor’s degrees this year, three of whom have been accepted into Master’s programs to continue their education.
