When the VCCS State Board meets in Richmond July 17-18, the panel will have a new chair and vice-chair.
Dr. Susan Gooden, currently vice-chair, will step up to chair the 15-member panel, succeeding Robin Sullenberger. Board member Edward Dalrymple, Jr. was elected the body’s vice-chair during the board’s meeting in May.
Gooden is a professor of public administration and policy at VCU’s Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs. Dalrymple, a Fredericksburg area highway and infrastructure contractor, is President of Chemung Contracting Corporation, Dalrymple Holdings Corporation and Cedar Mountain Stone Corporation.
In addition, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has reappointed two members and chosen three new members to serve on Virginia’s State Board for Community Colleges.
Reappointed were David Broder of Fairfax, president of Service Employees International Union 512, and Douglas Garcia of Alexandria, a director with the Educational Testing Service.
Joining as new board members: Rajiv K. Narang of Vienna, Va., president and CEO of Renegade Technology Systems, Inc.; and Richard S. “Major” Reynolds III of Goochland, president of the Richard S. Reynolds Foundation.
Narang and Reynolds will succeed Yohannes Abraham and Bill Hall on the VCCS State Board.
