The 2016 General Assembly will convene on Wednesday, January 13.  So far, 959  bills  have been introduced and 43 bills of interest to the VCCS have already been identified that we will be carefully reviewing  and working to pass, fail, or improve. A list of the bills identified for the VCCS is attached. Bill introduction will accelerate as we approach the session’s beginning and the deadline for bill introduction (January 22);  subsequent lists will be developed and distributed to you several times a week.

Here is a schedule of upcoming important dates. February 21 is a very significant date; ideally, recommended funding and language for important VCCS initiatives like the Workforce Credentials Plan will be identical in the recommendations of  both the House Appropriations Committee and the Senate Finance Committee when those committees report out their versions of the budget that day.
